I shot this for UCB Comedy Originals.

I ate a slice of the pizza and ended up pulling a long grey wig hair from my mouth. It was gross, but I was hungry.

As a side note, I'll never shoot green screen in SD again. It has to be HD. The green (especially around the wigs) was impossible to key out in SD. I've shot green screen in HD and it is SO much easier to deal with in post and looks way better.

Watching one of these go from script to final cut is really interesting. I remember getting the script a few months ago, and it said "FOOTAGE NEED: Obama shaking hands with fat slobs in a Denny's. Obama looks depressed." (or something along those lines.) It was surprisingly easy to find.

This was one of the first things I helped with when I started at The Onion News Network back in December '08. I had to look through so many horrific videos and stills of the Iraq War to find all of these backgrounds.

After a while I became numb to it. I'm just thinking: "Too much color, not enough carnage." or "This shot would be great if they held the camera steady instead of running away from the sniper fire." or "It would be better if there was a dead body, and a Iraqi civilian crying." Then I take a long shower... and remember the only way I can deal with the awfulness of this situation (the war, not my job) is to make fun of it.

The next week I had to look through hours and hours of hardcore pornography.

This is a series that Chris Gethard and I did for our video sketch group Nuclear Palm. Some people think it's hilarious. Others are just disturbed. Either way it's really gross.

We found REAL erotic fan fiction and then Chris reads it dramatically. Personally I think it's insanely funny that people actually write this stuff and I love watching Chris bring it to life.

A while ago I did some freelance editing and shooting at GOOD Magazine. I really enjoyed their philosophy. (for example, you can pay for your subscription on a sliding scale)

About this video: "Some 30,000 men and women have lost limbs over the course of the conflict in Iraq, and the latest in prosthetic technology is helping them readjust to normal life." Take a look. It's actually sort of fun and uplifting, despite the heavy subject.

For this piece I compiled a lot of the footage, edited the first cut, shot some b-roll and shot the interview with the Iraqi War vet. I think it came out pretty sweet and I especially like what they did with the animation.

I got a very bad sunburn while shooting this. There was also a weird man who wouldn't get out of the empty lot/background of our shot. He scaled the fence and just lingered back there. Luckily we were able to shoot and edit around him.
